Boos Foundry Collection Dining Tables

Modern Rustic Dining Tables Featuring Butcher Block and Steel

John Boos & Co. has been making butcher blocks since the late 1800s, so it’s no surprise that their new Boos Foundry Collection dining tables feature butcher block dining table tops. Nor is it surprising that Boos would opt for table bases made of steel, since combining warm wood with hard steel is a surefire way to deliver the modern rustic look that is increasingly popular across the USA.

Shoppers can choose among four popular North American hardwoods – maple, walnut, cherry and oak. Northern Hard Rock Maple is consumers’ favorite, due to its hardness, neutral color palette and affordability. American Black Walnut, also valued for its coloration, features tans plus medium-to-dark browns. American Cherry starts out pale pink, but darkens over time to reveal light-to-medium reddish-browns and yellows. Appalachian Red Oak displays darker browns than those found in Maple, but lighter browns than those characteristic of Walnut.

Shapely Table Bases Add Modern Industrial Flair to the Boos Foundry Collection

“Modern Industrial” is another style of furniture design that’s quite popular nowadays. A modern industrial dining table, for instance, will incorporate design details that remind us of old factories or industrial spaces from yesteryear. It’s not the mere introduction of steel into the design that achieves the industrial look, but also the steel is shaped and finished. Boos offers two different table base design styles – Pub and Bistro.

The legs of Pub Style bases extend straight down from the table’s underside before beginning a slow but steady flare outward. The legs of Bistro Style bases also bend gently, but inward, creating a convex contour.

Like a Trestle Table, the Foundry Collection Dining Table Includes a Stringer

A stringer board is akin to a cross beam that provides support to any structure, such as a dining table. In this case, the stringer is positioned horizontally, resting in a plane that’s parallel to that of the table’s top. Like the top of the table, the stringer is an edge-grain butcher block, 1-1/2 inches thick. It attaches to a horizontal bar in each trestle support, enhancing both table-base stability and visual appeal.

Boos Dining Tables Come in Three Heights and Six Sizes

In addition to being available in four types of wood and two different design styles, these modern rustic tables are offered in three heights and six different sizes. You can choose among dining-height, countertop-height or bar height tables; either of two table widths – 36 or 42 inches; and three table lengths – 60, 72 or 84 inches. Tables 60 or 72 inches long can accommodate four diners comfortably, whereas the 84-inch-long table can handle six guests, including two seated at table ends.

Add Foundry Collection Dining Stools or Benches

Foundry Collection dining stools are available in both Pub Style and Bistro Style, and in heights of 18, 24 and 30 inches – corresponding to tables of dining height, counter height and bar height. Foundry Collection dining benches are offered in a single style – Pub Style; and a single height – 18 inches high; and in three lengths – 60, 72 and 84 inches. Bench bases incorporate horizontal stringer boards to match the look of the Foundry Collection dining table. Stool and bench seats are 1-1/2-inch-thick butcher block that matches the wood used in table tops. Stool seats swivel a full 360 degrees.
